Arambagh is the main administrative center of the Sub-division, Thana and Block as well. This town achieved the rank of a Municipality in 1886. At present the municipality is administered by a Board of Elected Commissioners. According to the census 1991, there were only 12 wards in the municipality, but the area had been divided into 6 more wards in the year of 1995-96; and thus this Municipality now consists of 19 wards as par census 2011. Many Government or Non-Government offices such as Post Office, Police Station, Fire Station, Court, The Branches of Banks, LIC, and Electric Office are situated in this town.
